Anybody know the best (read cheapest) place to get a rear number plate for a Griffith?

I believe they are partly transparent due to the light being behind them.

Can anybody help ?

Cheers

E-mail Dan on this address partsexpress@btinternet.com be sure to state Transparent. Price was good less than £25 for pair including small special for front.

Fancyplates.com do them as well. Never bought just one plate but should be comparable price from memory. make sure that you choose the TVR backlit option, from one of the drop downs as you 'build' your plate

cheers

Looks OK. The only problem I see is that when you are designing the rear plate on the website(which has to be a 'fancy plate' to enable the TVR option), the letters and numbers don't look the same size as normal.

Also, if you want the GB bit on the left, it puts a border all round the plate.

Annoying.

Looks OK.... but stuff about problems...
Annoying.

You can always phone Fancyplates. They'll pretty much make any variation from their stock website stuff. Just get them to read back exactly what you want. Whoever I spoke to last year wasn't the brightest button in the box.

I couldn't agree more. By phoning them I found they could supply me with the pre-2001 UK legal font which was exactly what I wanted on my pre-2001 car.

Wow! That's much cheaper than fancyplates! I've just ordered a 3/4 size front and back-lit rear for a whopping £46.93 inc carriage & VAT - ARSE! yikes

I use fancy plates because:
a) you can have a black GB EU panel instead of the horrible blue one
b) they will put your P.Heads name along the base
c) they know what you mean by TVR backlit

but if I could get the same service cheaper then why not I say yes

Can you order on line or do you have to ring them. The website doesn't give much info at all.

Hi all - can anyone recommend a good double-sidded sticky tape to fix the rear number plate with. I have used the white pads that came with the plate from 'fancy plates' ( fantastic service btw ) but the pads just don't have enough strength to hold the plate in position, also the fact that they only have about a 6mm border inside the bodywork to adhere to does not really help.

Cheers

John

Thanks, good idea, would not have thought of that, and stops water ingress too! I notice that the number plate surround has a slight curve, did you tape the plate in place until the silicon had set to stop the plate pinging off?

Thanks very much

John
