Hi,

Does anyone have any positive experience on replacing the standard disks with any of the brands mentioned above ? (Groved and Cross Drilled, standard sizes)

Thanks

Nope, no experience of the above. A very similar (grooved & spotted) product produced by EBC is pretty good- part number TGD150. Run them in gently.

Bought Black Diamond 275mm grooved discs, both cracked badly first time out !!!!

Bought Tarox 275mm grooved discs, been on for 6 years and are brilliant

No contest in my experience

Cheers

Another +1 for Tarox (G33 in my case). I always seem to have problems with brake discs but these have been excellent. Quite pricey though but at least they look pretty! smile

Thanks Guys,

I note from moosehunter's reply that he is used 275mm disks ? I assume these don't fit under 15 inch rims with the OE calipers ? (OE Front = 260mm)

Thanks

I ran groved Tarox discs and pads on my Griff 500 .. really helped the braking a lot.

Just ordered a pair of GD216 discs from ECB. Hoping they arrive today and can fit them. They are 260mm discs so will fit the OEM calipers.

Will let you know how good they are once fitted and run in.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies, I think I am going to go with Tarox sports japan disk (grooved & cross drilled) and standard sizes. Can any confirm the following dimensions are correct for a 1998 Griffith 500 ?

Front : Vented 260mm x 24 x 58
Rear : Vented 273mm x 24 x 58

If anyone has experience of Tarox pads can you comment on the following >

Strada (112)
Corsa (114)
Sintered (115)

Cheers

Forgive the elderly thread bump but I'm on the hunt for new pads to suit Tarox 6 pot calipers. I'd hoped Hawk would have made some but am struggling to find any suitable for street use. Would appreciate any advice on what pads are available please?

Still on the Tarox grooved disks (front and back) fitted in 2011 Ferodo ds2500. Wear rate looks good , just generates a lot of brake dust. Would need to know piston specs and disk areas identify pads

I run Black Diamond grooved, but NOT drilled, on My Chimaera and do track days on them. I was warned not to buy drilled in any disks because they can crack.

Awesome stopping power when combined with Hawk racing pads (front) and Ferodo DS2500 pads (rear). I run 324mm Focus RS size front disks and 273mm (standard) rears.
