This fits in the radiator mounting for the Otter switch on a later Griffith. Has anyone tried one? They are approx £100 ea vs £10-15 for a bi-metallic type Otter switch, but the bi-metallic ones seem to fail every 18-24 months (I've had 3), either on or off

IMHO, you should double check the wiring regarding how the fan switch is being used... these rarely fail and are only an earth out switch to the fan relay (go back and check the relay). A@

Thanks for the replies. I have checked the Owners Handbook for my 1999 Griff 500 and each fan is wired with it's own 25A fuse and relay (No1 & No 8)

Currently the fans are coming on all the time regardless of coolant temperature. However, I gave a light tap to the otter switch when the fans were running with temperature low immediately after starting and they switched off. This suggests the otter switch is sticking? Is it likely that both fan relays are failing?

The otter switch is just a simple temperature dependent switch. Just remove the connectors and with ignition on touch the connectors togeter the fans should come on and stop when you disconnect.
