Lousy day today. Got a cold, it's been raining and I've spent the whole day doing an online computer course to qualify for a job I'm never going to do (don't ask). Griff's been on charge for two days and has had to sit outside in the rain because I couldn't push him uphill into the garage. He also hadn't run for about 4 weeks due to holidays, work, weather and the flat battery. Just popped outside to move the cars around so I could fill up the diesel with go-go juice and thought I'd see if Griff would start. Climbed inside elegantly, making sure no paparazzi got a glimpse of my gentleman's vegetables and slammed the door shut. Key in... and dashboard lights up. Tingle of excitement. Disarm immobiliser, turn key, press accelerator and "OOOOHHHHH YEESSSSSSS!!!! WHIP ME HARDER BRUNHILDA!!!!" What a sound!!! The missus was inside the double glazed house with headphones on and it made her jump. Reversed the car away from the garage doors, exited Griff to open the garage and looked back to see the fumes from the exhaust lit up by the rear lights. What a car! There is no way I am ever, ever, ever selling this little fella.

If you ever needed to know why these cars are going to go up in value then come around to my gaff. You can keep all the modern stuff. Nothing comes even remotely close. What a car....

same sort of thing last week - running the Griff even just to roll it in and out of the garage is fantastic after only running the daily driver since it got cold. (Even if I had to pull out a dash vent to get the side lights to turn off!!!)

We can only hope but I see a recent post talks about EV charging points for the home...

Nearly 15 years later, "these cars (have still not gone) up in value", and the OP who was "never ever ever" going to sell the car, sold it, years ago, for something more modern!

The pot of p*** on somebody's chips again, eh?

Considering the OP started the thread only 2 weeks after joining PH, you could forgive his initial exuberance, I think. smile The last 2 winters, I've considered trying to sell my Griff, but come Spring time I'm glad I didn't. The EV will get me through the winter.

I think I saw Lucy P walking down Northumberland street in Newcastle with Sandwich boards reading:

My Griffith and Tuscan both continue to put a smile on my face, and I look to make an excuse to use them wherever possible.

Only last week I used the Tuscan to go get my ear wax removed, the car sounded even better on the way home biggrin
