So, this weekend I’m almost forced into the central barrier by a Mercedes who doesn’t understand blind spots or does but is just a pr*ck so I’ve decided to get a dashcam for the Griffith. Not sure why I haven’t before as I have Vantrue’s in the other cars.

Anyway, I’d like to hard wire it in with the cable coming up the passenger side as the GPS reader is in the bracket that the rechargeable camera attaches to.

The wiring kit provides the ability to jump off an existing fuse which with the fuse board being by the passenger footwell might seem like the obviously choice. I don’t want the camera running with ignition off – what the best fuse to jump off – or is the better site to pick up the power feed (with an inline fuse) that won’t add to the mess already around the battery ?

Be interested to know from anyone who’s hard wired one where they went for the power.

Thanks !!

Not on a griff but my dashcam switches itself off after a set time or sense of voltage drop when engine is not running (it has a permanent supply from the interior light fuse).

Just hard wired a dashcam to my Chim, picked one of 10a fuses in the middle of the board, turns out it’s ignition controlled.
