The Death of Diesel? RRS - Petrol?
Discussion
Currently own a 2011 RRS. Looking to move into the new model RRS. My concern is around the future for diesel. I would appreciate thoughts on what the future might hold. I appreciate that a modern RRS Diesel is EU6 and relatively clean but are we going to see over the next 5 or so years blanket bans of diesels in many cities and low emission areas? If that is the case is a petrol RRS the safer bet. On that note thoughts on the 3ltr supercharged vs the 5ltr supercharged. Appreciate the performance difference is significant but so is cost and if I wanted a sports car I would buy a sports car. For the price of a new well spec'd 3ltr with discount I would be looking at a 2yr old 5ltr with a few miles and not to my exact spec plus a difference on running costs (I am not a high mileage driver do take the existing RRS off road quite a bit). So help me out here. Is buying a 3ltr super charged an insane thing to do or a good hedge against a backlash vs diesel and more cost effective than the 5ltr?
i understand your concerns as even euro 6 will be banned from some cities in europe. Weather it all talk right now or not i don't know. Trouble is that 3.0SC has not got great reviews most saying the SDV6 is a much better choice . go figure. Also at least there was no bad news for Diesel in the budget.
Right now i,m sticking with mine and will watch what happens in the next year.

I've just ordered a Velar and am equally undecided. I've ordered petrol for the time being. I prefer petrol, the future is more anti diesel but the diesel draw (retained value? ) is strong
What lead time have you been quoted?
