Freelander 2 boot room
Discussion
Hi all
I am thinking about getting a Freelander 2 and have been trying to find out a bit more about boot room on one.
We (a family of 4) are going to Florida in September so will have 3 relatively large suitcases and wondered whether we would have trouble fitting them in?
I've looked in a FL2 boot and its hard to tell just from looking so I wondered if anyone has had any experience?
Many thanks

They are pretty poor for space if the back seats are up, with a bit of ingenuity you will probably just do it but there will be little room for anything else. I have always been pretty disappointed with my Freelander 2 in this respect, but then I did downsize from a ML 270 (big mistake in most respects). I suggest you do a trial run, then you will be able to tell any female members of your party that they will have to ditch some items!!I am thinking about getting a Freelander 2 and have been trying to find out a bit more about boot room on one.

We've got three children, and it copes with the annual airport run without issue.
A large three-wheel pushchair, which we've now dispensed with, filled it up, and compared to the ML, it's much smaller.
Ours has the LR dog guard which is a necessity, but eats into the space a bit more, but overall the car is adequate.

Ok that's great, I'm hopefully going to see one either tonight or Thursday so going to take a suitcase along to get a better idea of how it will all fit inA large three-wheel pushchair, which we've now dispensed with, filled it up, and compared to the ML, it's much smaller.

Ok thanks for that, I did look at an ML 270 but was put off by the tax cost. I've also been looking at a Mazda CX-7 and a Nissan X-Trail, but prefer the look of the Land RoverMartin-s5suj said:

Remember cheapest is not always best (The tax is only once a year and was the same for mine as the Freelander). My ML270 was a joy the same can not be said of the Freelander which seems to be fraught with various transmission problems along with the heater fan and air con pump, which are all expensive to solve, and no more economical than the Merc. But then each to his own and only you can make the ultimate decision. Good luck with your choice - Caveat Emptor. Had a Freelander 2 and the boot isn't very big, a couple of decent size suitcase's and a holdall will fill it. Ours was manual and on the whole was pretty robust. From the size you'd expect them to be good on fuel, even nursing ours it wouldnt do more than 32 ish round the houses and 36ish on a run, auto's are worse but nicer to drive.
