MY17 RRS Front Parking Sensor

I understand the front sensor is only active once reverse is engaged or it is manually switched on.

Is there a way of having the front sensor on automatically?

Seems a bit odd that it isn't permanently engaged!

I was told this too by the LR salesman when I bought my 2014 FFRR.

Roll on 3 years later and a month before selling it I discovered by accident that holding the parking sensor button down for about 10 seconds did the job. Comes on automatically during slow speeds!!
