Replacement engine for Range Rover

Hi all.

Been offered a 2006 Vogue with a blown engine. Could anyone give me a clue on the cost of replacement and any recommended and reliable outfits to do it?

Do you know which engine?

2006 was a crossover year for the diesel; Td6 or TDV8

Petrol was either 4.4 N/A or 4.2 Supercharged (both Jaguar engines, the Supercharged was also only available in Vogue SE or AB trim from memory)

Oops, yes that would be useful.

It's a turbo diesel, 56 reg.

56 plate would be an early TDV8 I reckon!

My fathers TDV8 blew up in may, LR reckon it's £18k fitted with all the other bits that need replacing along with the engine. Can be done cheaper for sure, think he got a quote of around £14k else where.
