Hi All,
I don't think I'm the first one to say this but I'm thinking of driving my Discovery3 off a cliff.
I have had a new engine, I've had new clutch, mass fly wheel.
Now had a new suspension compressor.
Todays problems are I still have a yellow dash light and message about special programmes are off.
5 miles later I get a bong and a Red dash Light warning that speed restricted to 30mph.
anyone got any ideas what's going on.
Been to main dealer and Computer says suspension compressor which it can't be. Help please I'm desperate

Go to disco3.com - armed with the fault codes if possible - and ask there, or use the people there to find a reliable independent specialist.

Main dealers aren't always that good when it comes to diagnostics, particularly on older vehicles, not least because they don't need to be.

Thank you It's doing my head in I so wanted a reliable British 4x4 but I may have too high an expectation.

The first thing to check is that the battery is charged (and charging) properly - odd suspension related errors are quite often due to a low state of charge

A good D3 is a brilliant car, but it may take a little while and a few quid to get a good one if you're starting with one that hasn't been looked after; I'd have got very fed up with mine without a) a decent indy specialist and b) a decent warranty.

Sadly, you definitely aren't.

Hahahah! Reliable British 4x4! Did you do any research before buying? This is a common occurrence in the D3 world.

Clutch is a consumable. However a clutch replacement is cheaper than a new auto box...
Compressors don't last forever. Most D3s will be on their second now.
The Engine is unlucky and you have my sympathy with that one. Hope they secured the bolts on the crossover pipe!

Have you checked all the brake bulbs? That can throw up some unusual errors including the ones you have listed.

Check the battery voltage. They are incredibly sensitive to low voltage batteries. That would be the first place I would check,

Could also be a faulty height sensor and they are located at each corner of the vehicle and not that expensive.

Wiring. They can wear through and cause issues. Prey it isn't that as that can be a nightmare to find.

Disco3 forum is excellent, but I think the D3/4 owners group on Facebook is also worth joining and I think it's run by the same people and certainly the regular posters from the forum are on there.

Facebook group also doesn't feature a post count, so. You won't get any grief for having a zero post count when yu ask about your issue.

Good stuff.

My alternator survived the first battery replacement - I think at around four years old - but not the second, at eight years old, so be prepared for that to throw in the towel as well if it is the battery.
