New Defender 90 - must have upgrades for off road & other

Hi Everyone, hoping to pickup a used 2024 defender 90 soon - it's gone the se x-dynamic kit with roof rack and ladder already fitted and side steps .
I'm hoping to use it as a do it all from daily driver, putting a bike on the back, dog in the rear and will use it off road.

I'm coming from a lifetime of Vans - so bit of a step up for me

Anyone have any MUST HAVE upgrades please for off roading, thinking protection etc.

also any other resources for the new defenders, been looking but can only mostly find stuff for the old defenders.

If you've never driven off-road before, then the best 'upgrade' is some training, to understand the basics.

These cars are more than capable out of the box, so get to know the vehicle and your abilities first, before any 'modifications'.

I used to compete off road in Land Rover trials in my 90. The only absolute essential modification is to make sure you have front and rear recovery points, and always make sure you have a second vehicle to hand whenever you decide to go serious off roading.

After that I'd suggest some mud terrain tyres, and then a steering guard and some diff guards.

Air suspension, off road package for the locking rear diff, and go on the half day experience that a dealer will give you.

Learn how the car works and you can then tweak it to your requirements.
