Is the 2022 onwards LR 3.0 diesel engine ok?
Discussion
Presume you're talking about the i6 engine. We have it and it's our first after a number of v6 versions (TDV6 and SDV6). Ours is a 71 plate car with 44k miles.
Bought Approved Used used and it's had a recall very early on for a squealing pulley that was a Tech Bulletin on the Defenders but hadn't been put out for the RRS - was covered by JLR.
This winter we had the DC-DC Converter fail, outside of warranty. A quick discussion with the local stealer and JLR resulted in JLR offering 100% coverage as it's a known failure point. I paid 10% to get a 3yr warranty on the repaired parts which included a replacement battery.
There may be other known issues, but these are the two that have affected us.
Overall, it's got a better pickup than the V6 and doesn't sound / feel like a tractor.
