Just been to see an interesting little unit for rent.
Ideal for me but the landlord says they dont do contracts for thier properties but have a simple but effective 'licence'.
+ Points of the property are no up front deposits, monthly rental end of month, easy out if there is a problem, nice a local, no legall costs.
What are the issues of using this rather than a traditional contract.

This is exactly the type of unit I started in 17 years ago and ended up being there 7 years with 2 units. At the time it was comforting to know if it went tits up (which thankfully it never did!)I wasn't tied to a long lease.I only moved when it became apparent that the business was perfectly stable and for a little bit more per month I could buy a commercial property.
