We're about to take over new business premises at the end of the month and I need to provision a telephone number in order to get the new business stationery printed.

I'd like to deal with a telecomms company that are marginally less like a bunch of complete monkeys than BT - any suggestions?

Try Britannic Technologies - John James 07917649480 - tell him Jeremy from BDM put you in touch.

Having just set up a new office I can only comment that going to BT for any sort of service would be a very bad idea. They have no idea about customer service. Do not unserstand the needs of businesses, nor do they understand the nature of truth.

I have heard that Mickey Mouse wears BT pants.

BT do not have much of a concept about customer service, however at all cost make sure you do not go to a cable company such as NTL/Telewest Business as they will then have you over a barrel for your call charges.

The two options you have are either somebody who is able to do BT Wholesale (ie. buying off BT and rebadging it enabling you to have calls and lines on the same bill)

or

Someone who is a BT Indirect Channel Partner enabling them to effectively act as a go between for you - the advantage of Indirect Channels is the installation timeframes are shorter however they will cost you more in ongoing rentals than BTWA (when it is done right anyway)

The company I work for, www.southern-comms.co.uk can do both.

If you want to mail me me via my profile I can get lines in for you within a couple of weeks (providing it is not ISDN30e which will take a month or so)

I hope this helps - I will have to have a word about special rates for the pistonhead collective

Regards

Ben
