Just doing my expensies for the quarter! and had a mild panic.

Is the 40p per mile rate the same for 1.9 litre diesels as it is for 2.2 litre petrol engines?

If not I have been over paying myself since september last year! Not a major problem 'cause it has gone into a directors loan account rather than my back pocket!

Cheers

Chris

The "Authorised Mileage Rate Scheme" does not differentiate between engine types or engine sizes, only on number of miles (i.e. over or under 10,000 business miles).

Note, the 40p/25p per mile amounts ARE NOT FUEL CLAIMS. They are claims for the ENTIRE running costs of the vehicle.

Great, thanks Eric I was expecting a reply from you.

Yes these are operating expenses for using my own car for business.

I am also logging the mileage on a sperate sheet so that I can see when I hit 10,000 miles and therefore switch to the 25ppm rate.

Thanks again Eric.
