We are a small specialist workshop and recently did a large project for a client who shipped his car to us from Hong Kong. The car has since returned but part of the project was to replace the seats and he wants his old ones sent back to him. I have packaged them up in a wooden crate but don't really know where to start in order to get these moved. I guess it's a bit too big/heavy for FedEX. Can someone please give me some pointers on what sort of company I need to engage? I just want someone to handle it all for me - picking up, shipping to HK and then local delivery there.

Cheers...

Can recommend Priority Freight - https://priorityfreight.com/

I've used them several times to ship stuff around the world, including whole cars.

Did this some time ago, had various quotes from the shipping companies. Some were ludicrous (both £ and paperwork).

In the end, we used for a non-critical item a "baggage shipping company" - they send luggage around the world, often for foreign students. Really really easy to use. It's another option to consider for your "wooden trunk".

A word of warning - I once tried to ship something on a random pallet I had lying around. I was then asked for paperwork to show the pallet conformed to numerous regulations regarding wood treatment etc, so had to get the shipping company to re-pack onto another.

Should be a piece of cake
Make sure the woods has the treated wood logo on
Weigh and dim it.
Find out how he wants it. Ie terms

Easiest way for you is get whoever delivered the car to come and get the seats and send them ex works
So you’ll pay nothing and he does it all
