I have an excellent opportunity to start up my own business.

I need to raise £10k to see me over the first few months to get off the ground.

The problems I have are:
1, Just purchased a house so re-mortgaging not an option.
2, I have quite a bit of debt outstanding on credit cards so not an option.

I have an excellent business plan and backing of an estabilished business, but I will not start to make any return for first few months and will still have the usual bills to pay.

So do I approach the high street banks with my plan?

Do I look for private investors?

Any advice would be greatly received.

Thanks for that John P. The car is already earmarked to go and considering that the car is financed I will still be £10k short of what I need.

By the way noticed your other post about running a bar. I ran bars and nightclubs for 12 years if you need any advice give me a shout.
