A mate is with Giant (yes I know) and its his own Limited Company.

He is winding it up and staying with Giant but setting up an Umberlla company.

They are chargin him £750+VAT for that.

Does it sound about right or can he negotiate seeing as he is still with Giant just using another of their services..?

Why can't he wind up his own company FOR FREE?

Absolutely possible, just ask Companies House to strike it off the register (assuming all accounts etc are completely up to date).

Hi Eric

The company is set up through Giant. His circumstances have changed and he wants to give up the company but stay with Giant through their umberlla company.

I would have thought there would be some negotciation seeing as he is staying with Giant, just uising one of their other services.

As long as Giant have no ownership or control of his company then they should have no say in how he winds it up.
