Anyone used Vistaprint for stationary?

They seem unbelieveably cheap for 4 colour printing.

Wheres the margin?

Poor quality print, poor quality paper?

Or am I just being a cynic and are they actually very good?

Haven't used them myself but a colleague has for Business Cards and a few promo items and he was pleased. The quality isn't the best but then they're very cheap.

I've used them recently, considering the price I paid, quality is good enough.

Used them for business cards - no problems with the cost/quality of workmanship, delivery time, etc.
Only thing is they aren't "standard" size, the width is the same but the height is about 7-8mm less - doesn't sound like much, but does make them look a bit different. Some people have more of a problem with this than others though!

Interesting feedback, thanks.

Has anyone tried a full colour front and rear?

Ideally I am after a black front and a lime green back, with lettering.

(sounds hideous I know but the designs are actually quite nice...)

I use them for our business cards, we have full colour printing on the front and black and white printing on the rear. The prices are unbelievable. I paid less than £30 for 2000 business cards a month ago.
I echo the comments about non-standard size, and the card weight is lighter than I would ideally prefer.
One hint is to use the .com website and order in dollars. They still ship from the Netherlands (or where-ever) but the converted dollar->sterling is in your favour and postage costs are cheaper than the .co.uk version.

Sounds like a spot colour job to me.

E-mail me a pdf and spec {matthew@pandapress.net} and I'll send you a quote.

Hi There,

I think the prices Vistaprint offer look great, Ive never seen the quality though, the templates look a bit dull but I spose most "off the shelf" designs do unless you can add logos etc and find one thats right for your business . I can offer free design and delivery to mianland UK with my cards and they also come with a choice of four finishes free of charge, feel free to e-mail me if you'd like any more information or a sample pack , info AT fullphatdesign.co.uk

Its important to remember that normally your cards give a first impression about your business so its vital to get them looking good!

Best of luck!

Hi Matt

We use VistaPrint. I've ordered over 1,000 flyers from them in different designs and another 1,000 or so business cards with full-colour fronts with both matte and gloss finishes. I was very happy with all of them, but if you have business cards done the gloass finish is far superior and looks much more professional - well worth a relatively small additional cost.

If you like, I'm happy to send some samples of our cards and flyers for you to take a look at. Just email me through my profile or www.cantarus.com with your address.

Hope this helps.

Lee.

I've also used Vistaprint without any problems - they are certainly in the business of volume and automated production with the minimum amount of intervention from their workers. I'd think a lot of printers are pulling their hair out at trying to compete on price alone, which is why they try to add more value with their design prowess.

I used them for business cards. It was a simple 2 line colour design but they printed it 4CP which wrecked the definition. They are also thin and look and feel cheap - so next time I'll buy from a proper printer.

thats all they do.

not knocking them, they are very good at it - if you want cheap colour, no help, advice, service or choices then fine.

otherwise pop into your local litho printer for a proper job.

I have used them a few times for business cards and magnets - quality was fine for what I wanted, and often they do special promotions where you can get gloss finish for a penny, things like that...

I had an e-mail from them yesterday offering 2000 premium cards for £20 (or 250 free), but thats to use one of their designs.

The only problem I have ever had with them is they mixed my order with someone elses, so I ended up with business cards for Herballife, while some woman down south got a batch of Ann Summers cards and magnets. I rang vistaprint who said they would replace my order free of charger, then I rang the woman who had my cards and we arranged to swap, so we each ended up with our own back and a free lot from vistaprint!
