One of our retail shops was closed down last december as we were short of staff and the shops profitability was questionable.

Now we are progressing with selling on the lease and the window has been plastered with posters for the typical musicians albums/concerts/russian circus'.

How do we go about prosecuting the bill posters? Obviously nobody has been caught in the act, but the event organisers have paid for these to be distributed and thus must have some responsability with regards to where they end up?

Bottom line, I'm likely to be the monkey that gets tasked by good old dad to remove said posters from the window and I'm damn sure I'm not going to be doing it without some satisfaction the people that put them there are going to get something by way of punishment.

Well if you really want to end up in hospital with two broken legs you can have a go. There is often a criminal element involved with bill posting and I would tread very very carefully.

Camden council took out an ASBO against some of the top bods at Sony and BMG because their companies were bill posting. So local councils anti-social hotline might be an idea.

I'm guessing it'd be qutie a David and Goliath battle though.

Have you got a 'post no bills' sign in the window.

Any time I've seen one it appears to have worked (of course I wouldn't have seen the ones burried under actual bill posters though!)

As rpg said, the ASBO threat scared the bejeesus out of Sony. They tried to claim it wasn't their fault and that their agency had unfortunately employed some fly-by-night. Camden just called their bluff.

Lean on your local Council to prosecute. If they baulk, ask when they are coming around to clear up the mess (or where to send the bill)

I heard one interesting tactic to get shot of such posters. Get a big rubber stamp with the words "concert cancelled" (or some such), and stamp the posters with it.

I dont know what the situation is with it here in Glasgow, but I know a few mates who ran club nights in Edinburgh and the boys doing it through there were fairly dodgy. Not to be pissed off basically. Might not be worth it for a brick through the window once you`ve spent ages scraping them off!

O/T I think I spied your Celica in town last weekend? Maybe not just remember seeing a black one with white wheels.

If Bill Posters gets locked up or ASBO'ed, he'll only be replaced by Bill Stickers.

Certainly did, I saw your Exige whilst I was parked up outside the City Chambers. Car is absolutely lovely. Friend of mine had a mk1 Exige in orange previously, and they're fantastic looking and sounding cars.

Re: The bill posters. I have decided bugger it, since a company have now agreed to sublet the property and it is now they're problem to get them off. I talked to the council but it was the usual charade, department one doesnt know who you should speak to so pass you on to department two. They say ah yes, they empathise but you need to speak to department three. Department three dont answer their phone so you get transferred back to a different goon in department one. Repeat until fade.

More O/T - Yeah, I know who that is, been on a couple of runs over Loch Lomond way with him before he sold it when I had my s1. I was between the Orange and the Yellow, got to be bright either way!
