Boring Company Car?
Discussion
I want to buy/lease a company car for a new manager that we're taking on, which won't cripple him tax wise.
He needs an estate and is thinking of a Ford Focus which, with a decent spec (he reckons), will cost about £15k?
Anyone got one or can anyone recommend anything else which will be just as suitable please.

Good though they are in engineering terms, I suspect if you bought a new manager a Skoda, you could probably expect to see them throw the keys at you and walk away. I would go with the "pick one of these" as stated above. Giving someone a choice always feels good for the person doing the choosing, even if the selection isn't massive. Might an LPG vehicle be an option instead of diesel?

I keep hearing very good things about the Mondeo Tdci 130
Second hand will definately be within budget, not sure about a new one though.
don't, I'd been using one for a while, till a lorry ate it. The seats are like planks of wood so if he racks up the miles.... 186 for emmisions tho if you don't care about him that much
Can't comment on the 2L, but the 1.6 I had for a fortnight before going Mondeo was a delightful little motor.
The Mondeo Zetec was slightly different, but better in some ways, and not as good in others. Can't say I noticed much difference between the 115 1.6 and 135 2.0, but the 5 speed box on the Focus 1.6 was well suited.
Then came the 3 weeks of ST Mondeo - again not monumental difference between 135 and 155, but those tyres and wheels, and......well, you get the picture.
My only criticism of the Mondeo is the fiddly controls for the heating, and the antiquated stereo controls on the steering column.
Otherwise, loved it to bits. So much so, I'm fighting with myself to decide whether to go for an 05 with Xenon/Recaros for £14K (15K miles) or £14K (17K miles) on an 04 Honda Accord Executive.
Anyone want to persuade me either way?!
As for the Mondeo seating being poor - sorry, not at all. Not quite Volvoesque, but very comfortable even after many miles over all sorts of roads, not just M'way.
