Our bloke might be able to help out, Steve. We outsource all our book-keeping to him. If you don't get someone local to Alton I'll put you in touch if you like. He's Basingstoke based like us.

But cheers for the thought.

out of interest can anyone tell me what a book keeper earns? A friend of mine was chatting to me only last night about taking on a second job as his work gives him huge amounts of time off. I presume he needs a qualification though too?

No qualilifications required.

In fact, there never really have been any sort of formal qualifications required for book-keeping. Most book-keepers and many "accountnats" I've come across use knowledge they have acquired purely through work experience. Some may have done business related subjects at school or college or may be well versed in computerised book-keeping packages such as Sage.

The nearest to a book-keeping qualification that exists is the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) 2which is actually not a bad qualification at all.

Mate: I'll e-mail you his contact details today. I spoke to him and he would be happy to travel to Alton.

Obviously whether he's any use to you or not is going to depend on whether or not he can cover the amount and kind of work you want doing and if its a good deal for you.

Anyway: no harm in having a chat.
