Just a quickie.
Say I open a new company and immediately sell (I own all the shares) some shares to a partner for £10K, what tax would I have to pay (I'm assuming CGT but i'm unsure of the % )

I'm going to change my user name to Mr_Hypothetical

40%. However, if you hold onto the shares for two years then you can get 75% Tax (taper) relief on the capital gain, so you'd pay 10% Tax.

I take it that's 40% on the amount above your personal allowance of £8600?
