Hi,

(We are a web development/software firm)

One of my clients has asked us to look into building a casino/poker/online games website for a new business venture he is planning.

This isn’t our usual department, and not one I would like to get too involved in either.

Can anyone recommend any “white label” setups that provide the complete package (including anti-fraud, payment processing and secure hosting etc), leaving the “owner” / “licensee” the job of tinkering with the graphics and marketing the service, in exchange for monthly fees or profit shares?

He is well aware of the competition and saturation of the current market but still seams keen. I would like to suggest the white label option, and then perhaps provide the design/online marketing for the site, but steer well clear of the management/game development.

Are their any firms on here who specialise, or have experience in this area who may be interested in taking the project on?

Thanks in advance.

Sam

iirc most are illegal in the UK and those that do operate are offshore and with huge licensing costs..

There have been alot of enquiries recently in the sector, with the resounding reply being the above, licensed or offshore is the only real way ahead.

Thanks for the tips. I think this is more of a POS solution for betting shops so they can integrate with BetFair, rather than an online casino in-a-box.

I looked on their commercial solutions list but that seams to be the only thing offered.

I've done some Google'ing and turned up a few, but none I've "heard of" as it were.

As I say, not really one I'm very keen on – but would like to give the client some help in the right direction (or pass on to someone who can provide it), rather than a flat “no”.

Cheers,
Sam

PartyGaming (used to) do this with their skins. They had MultiPoker, IntertopsPoker, Coral Eurobet (who left of their own volition) and EmpirePoker (who were bought by PG for $250m). Not sure if they still do skins though, what with one thing and another, not least the development of the Party-brand. When I worked there skins drove about $30m revenue, about 3% - I suspect it will be lower in the future, though who knows with this US legislation coming in. However, the back-end engine and the associated security/payments setup is pretty damn good.

And as a heads up, I suggest Poker isn't the game to be looking at now anyway. Backgammon is going to be massive in 2007.
