I have a .co.uk domain name that I would like to sell.
Can anyone suggest an outfit to go to that would handle this?
I understand that some companies work on a "fixed fee" and others on "commission" - I don't mind either.

You could try selling it yourself on eBay.

If your site has a lot of hits (if you have a homepage) you should advertise the fact that it's for sale at the top of the page.

Any chance of letting us know your domain name?

Depending on the domain I might be able to suggest a few people/places

www.sedo.com

Oft praised, oft reviled, but it's the main player in domain sales.

Looked at the "Sedo" site but found it pretty complex to register with and although its "free" - you pay 10% of selling price plus a £70 fee - agreed worth it if you sell well.
My domain is www.Photosafe.co.uk - Iv'e retained it for a number of years but never opened a homepage with it. Initially it was for a business involving Photographic security i.e. photographing valuables for Domestic and Commercial clients which would be used for Insurance claims in the event of theft, fire etc. - still think it's a good idea but now spend too much time playing golf to be interested in developing it !! - lucky me.

John I would be really interested to hear how you get on with this. I have a hotel company domain that i am looking to let go but it is not of great value until 2012.

Keep the post going as you progress.

Mike.

I'd also be interested in knowing how you get on. I've been holding on to www.dressed4play.co.uk and www.dressed4play.com for years. Likewise I bought them for a business venture I subsequently decided not to proceed on and now just want to sell them.

Last time I bid on one I got an email saying that my bid was so low it wouldn't pay their car park fee for a day!
