Rumours abound that they are intent on returning vast sums of suplus funds to policy holders (as distinct from share holders).

Anybody heard how/when this might happen? I have at least 2 NU policies but I missed out on the Standard Life floatation because I had pensions not 'with profits' policies and fear NU will be paying out to 'with profits' policy holders too, not simple insurance policies.

Tis indeed with profits. the surplus comes from the orphan with profits fund.
So you won't be missing out, you aren't entitled to it.

Don't get too carried away with the "vast sums" idea - article I read indicated figures of a couple of hundred quid...
