Independant Financial Advisor - wanted in the Midlands

Right folks I need to remortgage to get rid of expensive short term borrowings and do a bit of an extension and remodel of our current house. I think I need an IFA to get a self certified mortgage - preferrably a bank account/offset style mortgage, if there is such a thing these days (self-cert wise).
I live in between Coventry and Solihull, so recommendations for someone reasonably close and ready to do business soon and things I should look out for in selecting an IFA are welcome. Or do I have to go back down South again to our previous IFA?
I was planning on re-mortgaging with our current provider, but they are playing silly buggers with the number of P60's required and other documentation stipulations, when it is pretty obvious to me if they looked at how we conduct our account - the amounts going in over the last four years more than covers the amount we wish to borrow.
