FSB "Networking" evenings

Anyone ever been to one of these? There's one tomorrow that I was planning to go on just to get my face known but as it draws ever closer I'm filled with an impending sense of everyone else doing exactly what I'm doing, ie selling and not buying.

Anyone had a positive outcome from attending one?

I've not been but from what I hear and this is what has put me off is that its all sellers and few buyers.

That's what I was thinking... Apparently there's a thriving "breakfast networking" meeting circuit round here, but I don't do breakfast meetings

So what if they are sellers rather than buyer.

I would guess by the title they are all small businesses so most people will have a dual role, so they may be selling pens but need a good printer or even something to hold the pens!

absolutely right, positive attitude old boy, they will all be buyers at some point for various products, you never know

Sounds like BNI. Have to be lucky on the mix. One I went to was full of florists and life coaches. And then as you say there is the breakfast issue . . .

That's the one. I was offered an opportunity to go to one, but at breakfast time I think I'd do my business more harm than good.
