are you viewing the same calendar on both devices? if you go into your iphone calendar settings you can choose which ones to view

Just use the calendar connected to your primary email address and ensure it's that one you are using on all devices.

If you have more than one email address (most of us acquire them over time) each will have it's own calendar, as effectively that is a different person.

You need to add the email address associated with those calendars to the phone, they should then populate the app

you can select to show as many or as little of the calendars on the screens as you want.

We / I have multiple work, home family and automated calendars, that I can toggle to overlay or not.
The suggested 'Work' or 'home' are simply that "Suggestions" if you want Apples help to compartmentalise your life. I don't, but do have similar segregations in the actual email accounts I have listed across all my apple ecosystem.
