Log in notification

Sorry I'm a computer idiot. But why do I keep getting a notification of a log into my online stock account on my phone when I log into the account on my laptop?
It only started doing this a few weeks ago.
Most say log in in Darlington but got one from Ely and one glasgow?

It's a security feature to confirm that it's you trying to log in. As long as it coincides with when you log in all is fine. If it happens when you're not trying to access your account then it is an indication that somebody else is.

The location thing is the app's guess as to where the login is coming from based on the IP address of the computer being used. It doesn't always get it right.
