Google account recover

Help! I'm trying to recover my wife's google account. She has a pixel 7 and the buttons have stopped working. Ive tried a factory reset and now can't get back in. Ive phone google who don't offer much help. The phone number is associated with the account but once it sends an sms it also wants to send an email which I don't have access to. Any ideas. The last time I had an apple they were far more helpful.

Do you mean that you no longer have access to the account recovery email address?

There doesn't seem to be a recovery email but the account is associated with her phone number. Google are no help. She has years of pictures so can't loose this. She also pays for google storage i think it's called Google one.

Of course there is a recovery email. It will be the one she set the phone up with. You must have a Google account to set the phone up. Of she can't remember it, then look through previous emails she may have sent to you from her phone. Or check your contacts to see if one has been automated. I don't think it's google's fault the email address had been forgot.

Put the SIM into another phone and get the text that way; and yes, there has to be an email connected to the account for it to work

They can get the sms, just not the email as they can't remember the email address and I would guess, also the password for it

So the Pixel 7 is now working, but she can't sign in because she can't remember her Google account username, or her password, or both?

Does she ever access Google One via another device e.g. a PC or laptop? If so, maybe that has saved her login credentials?

And you think Google is trying to send something to her recovery email address, but she can't remember what that email address is?

Situation resolved. The issue i had in another post about the power button not working is still there. I managed to get in in the end by signing in with my phone. I tried the same password and randomly on the 3rd attempt it let me in. I will say that Apple support and care is far superior to Google. Thanks for all help.
