Just had a customer call me on my mobile, saying he tried the landline number, got a message saying there was a fault.

I tried calling my landline from my mobile, dead.
Tried calling my mobile from the kandline, call worked.

Tried calling BT to report a fault. Both landline and mobile just give me a "service unavailable, please try later" message.

I guess their call system is swamped, not taking calls. Must be a major outage?

Broadband is still working though.

Says there's a fault.

Down Detector showing a massive increase in fault reports since noon.
Google brings up a lot of regional news reports of problems across the UK, but nothing on the BBC or Sky News websites

It may not be just BT. I could not get through to my wife or son on their mobiles (Giffgaff and Three) from my mobile (EE) just now, but the home BT line rang fine from EE. Down Detector also shows multiple error reports currently for EE.

Finally being reported on the BBC website. Widespread issue with BT and EE mobile and landline.

Software update gone wrong?
