Hi all,

We are going back to Virgin media, having left last year due to cost, as they are now the cheapest broadband provider. We've had engineers out a few times from open reach over the last few months trying to fix our ordinary line as we keep having issue with the connection dropping off.

Anyway, I am slightly concerned that the virgin line has been altered / partially dissconnected as there is a cable that is just wound up inside the box on the outside of the house. Can anyone in the know let me know if this should / shouldn't look like this?

The two black cables that go into the grey box are, I believe, the virgin cables. you can see one isn't connected to anything, and the other is connected to the white one that you can see going into the house on the final picture. The lead that goes under the box and into the house is the ordinary phone line.

All the best,
James

Back in the day NTL used 2 cables, 1 for TV and the other for broadband.

Nowadays only a single co-ax I'd required as it carries both TV and internet.
