Just a quickie...

Is it possible to have a laptop connected to ADSL wireless, using a broadband router, and a non-wireless PC connected to the same phone line, at the same time, using its own broadband modem?

Cheers

Pretty sure you can't do that.
You could hardwire the non-wireless pc to the router.

Yep, that was the other option...was trying to keep the non-wireless totally seperate cos it's getting on a bit now. Cheers.

I do exactly that with my cable modem.
The internet goes into a Netgear WGR614 router, the wired pc plugs straight into it, and the wireless signal is also broadcast from the same device in Mrs Mcflurrys lappy
