Fitbit -any good?
Discussion
Depends what phone your using it with I would say.
They’re ok with Android. Rubbish with Apple - as they don’t sync to Apple Health and even the paid solutions to this aren’t seamless.
My daughter (iPhone user) had a Fitbit but after needless issues with it not syncing to the Fitbit app, inconsistent tracking, etc. it’s been replaced with a Xiaomi Mi Band 10 which is an excellent device all round, cheaper than the Fitbit and works seamlessly with Apple Health while syncing without issue to its own app too.

I have had FiBit for a few years. It synced with the kit at my gym. Then Covid, and it was effective in monitoring what I was doing. It's good for me as I'm happy with setting a target, such as steps per day. I monitor my weight and pulse. I damaged my first one, went without a replacement for a couple of months but missed it, so bought another.
Whether it will suit you, only you can say, but for me the price is worth it.

My wife bought me one when I turned 50 and I enjoyed it and found it useful. It failed after about 4 years and its replacement after 3 and so I haven't bothered replacing it again. Like others have said worked well with Android. I never bothered with the paid extras. Probably worth £50 but I think I had a more expensive one and it didn't feel worth it tbh.
I've had Fitbits for years. They work well with Android. I have the Inspire 3 which was about £100 when we bought it a year or ago.
I don't have the premium subscription.
It does seem to log my swimming quite well, but sometimes my walks are a bit disjointed.
The annoying thing with Fitbits is the batteries seem to run down after 2-3 years, so you end up having to charge every day. But for £50 it's a good buy.

It doesn’t look like it offers anything over and above the Huawei band which is cheaper and very good

I've had fitbits for years. So many that I've completely all the distance and height challenges quite some time ago. You don't need the subscription. I had a couple of months of it for free and never used it. Worth 52 quid? Sure.
But...so are other devices. I've also had Garmin devices and I'm currently wearing a GW Ultra.
Fitbit does the social part of it best - so if she's got friends with a fitbit, then get one. If not, then Garmin does the best simple device and app.

I've had various Fitbits for years. They work well with Android phones. I started with the skinny wristband-like one (as I was wearing a regular watch at the time) and then moved onto the larger Sense 2 and ditched the Omega.
I find the software very intuitive and I continually track my steps, sleep, heart rate and cardio load. My wife has a Garmin and I find the software for that impenetrably complex in comparison. The battery lasts for days.
BUT I'll need to move over to the Google ecosystem in a couple of months. I don't mind the concept (I use Google extensively anyway) but it's objecting to the email and/or domain I'm trying to use and I've no idea why. Annoying.

I've had a Sense for about 3 years now and do think it's a cracking bit of kit. I've got Fitbit Premium as part of my Google One subscription (along with Nest Aware) so it does work out pretty good value. The battery isn't great these days, needing a charge every 3rd day or so but other than that can't fault it.
Groan.I can't move over from Fitbit to any of my existing Google accounts as they're all linked to my Google Workspace subscription and that's classified as a business account. And this is PII data ie there are privacy concerns.
This really is getting annoying now.
ETA; I just created a new Google account. Job jobbed and I now won't lose my Fitbit data in February when the switch happens.
