My mother is 88 years old and still as sharp as a tack, but my step-father is a few years younger and becoming quite forgetful.

As they have a huge garden and another 2 acres of paddock, he s always putting stuff down, walking off and then forgetting. It s not so bad when it s a garden implement, of a scruffy work jacket, but the latest casualty is a big bunch of keys.

I m thinking that some kind of GPS tag will help, but I m trying to avoid a subscription based service. They both use iPhones if that helps

Any suggestions for a multi-pack of tags with decent battery life (or even rechargeable / replaceable batteries)?

Airtag plus a attachment for the keys.

I use Chipolo on my keyrings. They're smaller than a 50p coin, flat and thin and use normal replaceable batteries. They work in reverse too; if youv'e put your phone down somewhere, squeezing the Chipolo makes the phone beep.

I've used a few, Apple are the best (but of course, the most expensive).

Tile is good, they will work on Apple and Android. You can replace the batteries which I think are CR2032s or similar.

Relatively good value and works well smile

Ive got 4 airtags about £90 from Amazon, the battery has lasted roughly a year.

They're....ok. When my kids are in Manchester or London I can usually see roughly where they are but if they're on the motorway or in the back of beyond it can take ages (hours) for the tag to update. It also gives you a rough area as to where they are rather than a pinpoint location.

I'd get one for your use case but another option might be installing Life360 on their phones?

Tiles are now by Life360. The Essentials are about £50 for 4 and the batteries last for about 3 years then die, but there are ones with replaceable batteries for about twice the cost - so 4 for £100. It will also find your phone.

I left an essential square in a hotel room in the USA in October - it is still there. It'll be interesting if it is still there next year when we visit our daughter.
