My in-laws have a vintage one armed bandit/slot machine that needs a repair. It all seems to work OK apart from paying out!

I was roped into having a look at it and it seems the mechanism for the payout is at the hidden behind the vertical tube. I don't want to start taking stuff apart unless I'm sure about what I'm doing. Are there any experts on here that can assist (paid for of course)? Any clues where to try and find someone specialising in these things?!

Thanks!

I actually have a book on antique slot machines, unfortunately I wont be anywhere near it until end of feb. Its more a history of them then a repair manual though.

What I will say though is you should google Las Vegas antique slot machine repairs, there's a few places there that deal in them, so maybe giving them a call and sending them some pics would help diagnose the problem and maybe get you some parts sent out.

My old mate Tony Temple (@arcadeblogger on Insta) is something of an authority on arcade machines, albeit possibly not fruit machines.

Worth dropping him a line though. If he doesn't know then he'll know somebody who does.

Sign up for an account on UKVAC.

It’s more focussed on arcade machines but they are a knowledgeable and helpful bunch (including Tomy mentioned above) and will almost certainly point you in the right direction.

A good clean our and spraying with lubricant wouldn’t go amiss
