Samsung Galaxy Tri-fold

Samsung are not satisfied with just launching a Flip and Fold smartphone.
They have now launched a Tri-Fold smartphone!
I know it might be a gimmick and not for everyone but at least Samsung are still innovating within the smartphone market unlike Apple.
Quite clever to have a smartphone which opens up to being a tablet.
What does everyone think?

I applaud the innovation that Samsung are still working on, whilst the majority of smartphone companies are just standing still with incremental updates to cameras, batteries, etc
I had the Fold 3 and now have the 6. This seems about the same size of the 6 but apparently weighs more but when it's in my jeans pocket etc. weight is not really and issue and my Fold 6 is already too heavy for lightweight summer shorts.
Based on the quality of Fold phones I can see this being robust but you'd still want to be careful with it.
I'm pretty sure my Fold 6 was about £1800 but they are saying the Tri fold could be around this price too.

I know I'm not the first person to point this out, but, here goes: it's a bi-fold, not a tri-fold.
And im also sure Samsung know that as well. Which makes me wonder why they have called it a tri-fold?
Because bi-fold has already been taken! Try searching for one then the other….And im also sure Samsung know that as well. Which makes me wonder why they have called it a tri-fold?

But surly the appeal of such a flexible and expensive device is been able to use is any where, beach, office, commuting, walking etc.I suspect it'll die within an hour if you took in on holiday and went near a beach. I had 2 Folds and an Honour Magic die on me now I suspect because I use them like a normal slab phone, take them on family holidays, hand them out to kids to keep them entertained when needed. They were all repaired under warranty but I have as much faith in these things lasting more than 12 months as any F1 team has of wining a world championship with Lance Stroll as their lead driver.
The Google Pixel Fold I believe actually has dust protection, so who knows, we might be getting close to seeing hinge designs that can survive actually daily use versus lab environments.
