Due to the work I do, I have a lot of USB-C peripherals that need power and data (multiple phones, an iPad and various bits of other hardware). I’m looking for a USB-C hub which provides power and data to all ports, but I’m not sure if such a thing exists?

I bought a powered Urgreen hub which I thought would do the job, but the power is actually only a pass through to the host computer, the other devices seem to only receive minimal power from the laptop. So the issue is, the iPad and some of the phones run out of battery after a few hours of running.

Found some fancy Anker and Urgreen docking stations, but they seem more targeted towards running multiple displays over Thunderbolt (with a few additional USB-C ports tacked on). I can’t be the only person with this problem?

I bought this a few weeks ago. I've a half a dozen peripherals plugged in and powered through it.

It's worked flawlessly so far.

USB-C not USB....
It might be a USB-C charging station you want, OP?
Not all USB-C ports on a hub will support proper power pass-through as far as I know. Do you need power and data at the same time?

It's my power and data requirement that causes issues - I develop mobile apps and use an iPad as an additional display. On some days, I seem to get <10w through the iPad cable and it just dies on me and on others it works fine. The phones are a bit less power hungry, but I have my dev devices set to screen on when connected to USB and that kills the battery pretty quick sometimes.

I think what I'm looking for is a full on Thunderbolt dock, as all the ports are powered and have data. I also get the added benefit that I can plug everything from my laptop (including the display) in using one cable. The downside is the cost!

For anyone looking for similar, these seem to be pretty decent contenders:

UGREEN Revodok Max 213
Anker Prime DL7400

I eventually went out and bought a proper Caldigit TS4 hub for my Mac Studio, as I got fed up buying other powered USB-hubs and not being able to get decent throughput or reliable power out of them...but as you say, proper Thunderbolt hubs are not a cheap option.

The TS5 and TS5 Plus versions offer more Thunderbolt/USB-C ports for about the same price (£350-£400) as the TS4 was in 2021.

There's also the cheaper 'Element' range with less power/ports (6 TB/USB-C vs 7/8; 90w vs 140w) for about £150 less...
