Anyone else noticed worse battery life after the latest update?

My phone used to easily last a full day, but now it drains much faster even with normal use like messaging and browsing.

Already tried restarting, checking battery usage, and limiting background apps but no real improvement.

Wondering if this is a known issue with this update or just device-specific. Has anyone found a fix, or does it settle after a few days?

No, but I use my phone for making phone calls, I never really understood why people browse the internet on their phones.

Useful!

My iPhone 14pro seems ok tbh, mixed use.

I've just updated my iPhone 11 (yes, I know!) to iOS 25.5, and the battery is taking forever to charge. It is on the borderline of being a knackered battery at 75% health, to be fair. I guess it is time to upgrade or replace the battery. Sigh.

If we're talking iPhone, an update can reset "Background App Refresh" to "on", which is a battery killer.

Go into Settings, General, and you'll find Background App Refresh. Then set it to "Off"

That is weird logic; because you don’t do something, you can’t understand why billions of other people do it? How else would I access the internet unless I’m in front of my laptop? Phone manufacturers and website developers have spent an enormous amount of time and effort to make mobile browsing seamless because that is one of the main reasons people buy a smartphone.

Aside from seeking to increase your post count, what is your motivation for your contribution to this thread?

There is a bug in the current Google Pixel software that is causing battery drain for some people.

Must admit almost never use my phone for anything other than, well a phone, the screen is to small for web browsing.

I doubt i’d buy an iPhone to make calls only.
An old Nokia would do the job!

So you don't use any apps either then? Seeing as a lot of apps are usually just a mobile version of their website.

I guess 100% laptop use is fine if you never leave the house.

You'll not get a reply from Groomio, he's a friend of mine at work. Apparently someone on this thread took umbrage at his replies and somehow managed to get him banned from the forum !
