Auto forwarding WhatsApp messages to SMS on Mac/iphone?

Can anyone think of a way to auto-forward WhatsApp messages to a mobile number via SMS, from either WhatsApp on an iPhone or desktop WhatsApp on a Mac?

Anything along the lines of Apple automation, an app, code, a paid for service etc?

Any suggestions appreciated.

WhatsApp provides apis for its "business" service to allow customers to use WhatsApp induced their own applications. If you were just looking for a bit of a hack to get something running for yourself, I'd start by looking at the requests and responses used by the free WhatsApp browser app ... e.g. open WhatsApp in Chrome on your desktop machine, hit F12, and then start groaning and looking confused.

Thank you, that’s a starter for 10 at least!

I did read that it should be possible by programming Apple Shortcuts to read the WhatsApp notification pop up and forward to SMS, so I will attempt that today.

But failing that, I may look at the api and forwarding offered by WhatsApp business services.
