I’m looking at possibly buying one as it has some benefits. Has anyone got one?

What benefits are looking for? You might be surprised at the capability of your existing router.

Indeed, what problems are you trying to solve? Lets start at the problem rather than (one of) solutions smile

Hardware wise it's mostly just one of the n150 mini pcs you can get for £150. Then add openwrt or opnsense. Or because these are really powerful (for their size and power consumption), add something like proxmox and install openwrt or opnsense in a vm.

Depends what you really need but why not ubiquity, mikrotik or mono

That's one way of looking at it but both openwrt and opnsense have several vulnerabilities which have required patching, so let me rephrase.

Hardware wise it's mostly just a Cisco Firepower 1150, which you can get for just under £10K and unless you sign up with a registered Cisco partner you won't have access to either security announcements or patches.

In terms of vagueness of question to breadth of possible answers this thread has to be right up there.
