Apple Mail problems
Discussion
Hey
Having a few problems with sending mail through Mail. I can use my providers webmail service fine so i know the server is alright but messages just stay in the Outbox and don't actually send.
I attempts to connect to the smtp2.***** server but doesn't actually send.
Any pointers?
Cheers.

I assume you have checked the mail server addresses to ensure they are correct, as they are not always the same for incoming and outgoing mail. Are they both SMTP or is one POP3?
POP2 for incoming, SMTP2 for outgoing.
They're the same as my flatmate who uses the same email server.

Who is your internet service provider?
Your outgoing mail server is set to smtp2.something by the look of your original message. Try setting it to smtp.something - this is a hunch, but might work.
Pipex is my internet service provider. 512 broadband connection.
I also tried the setting of smtp.*** but to no avail.
I suppose my email provider has seperate servers for webmail and Mail/Outlook users thus its their fault! gggrrr
So you're set to send mail via smtp.dsl.pipex.com and receive via pop.dsl.pipex.com, and SMTP authentication is turned *off*?
Edit: all the setup info is here, in case you hadn't come across this page already.
And PIPEX's webmail is via http://netmail.pipex.net/. You wouldn't expect to use the same settings in a mail client such as Apple Mail or Outlook. That said, both Apple Mail and Netmail will see the same e-mail messages unless you delete them from the server when you fetch them using Apple Mail. There's nothing much to blame on PIPEX unless they're having a server outage, which they're not at this time.
