Hi All, I am looking to purchase a C63, 507 coupe and was wanting to know what others thoughts are on this car.
I am in my early 60’s and feel it is now or never, but my concerns are around the suspension (potentially) being away too stiff and not nice for general road use, I must add the roads I mostly drive on are far from perfect and seem to have gotten worse over recent years.
The other potential issue I have read up on is can wear on these cars which can be very expensive to sort.
Any other comments gladly welcomed.

Thanks in advance
David.

I had one for 3 years loved the car. No problem with the suspension set up although it was 10 years ago. I’ve had a lot of AMGs this was the best one.

I had one in estate form with 18s and found the suspension fine.

However the 507 will have to be 19s to fit over the larger brakes. Other issue would be the 19s and cracked rims if the roads are that bad.

For some reason Mercedes insist on putting stupidly low profile tyres on many of their cars, and with the state of our roads that means you will crack wheels and burst tyres, the 507 has 255/30/19 on the back which are a crazy thin profile, I have 275/30/20 on my e class which whilst having deeper side walls are also bobbins and I've cracked a wheel costing £900 to replace, so I'll be moving to 19" for more side wall.

I have a normal W204 at 510 bhp, and went from 19” to 18.

The car was transformed, so much happier. Unless your road is akin to a racetrack, I know what my choice would be!

As for the car - go for it man. You only live once. I love mine, even at £790/ year….

I had a normal 6.2 W204, ride was ok tbh. It what you expect from a performance car. The F80 M3 was probably worse, 991 probably better.

Just be warned that if the day ends in 'y' you will kerb a wheel!
