R129 SL320 24V fule filter and fuel pipe

hello,

i'm trying to help me dad out with his R129 SL320 24V. 1993 K reg.
he's had it for many years but due to health issues hasn't been able to drive it much.
sitting his his drive it has not suffered from various issues, latest of which is that the engine keeps cutting out - he's been told it's because the fuel filter mesh and pipe from fuel tank to engine are corroded and causing blockages in the fuel.
these are no longer available from mercedes and i wonder if anyone has any advice on where to source these parts from?

i think my dad has also been ripped off with repair on his car - is there anyone reasonably priced, ideally not far from East Surrey who works on and repairs these cars?

The fuel strainer is still available from Mercedes but, from eBay pricing (try your dealer first) seems a lot more expensive than when I bought one for a 129 some years ago. Part number is A2014700506. The hose that screws into the base of the strainer could probably be recreated by a hose supplier such as Pirtek if it cannot be reused.
