Can anyone tell me what discount I can expect to get from MB dealers on a new C63 AMG with a few added toys and no trade in?

Thanks

About 7-8% in the current market.

Thanks, that what I though. I will probably order in Feb/March when the credit crunch is really taking hold.

Would depend on how their quarter has gone. You might get some of their backend bonus too.

We've got an ex-demo with a couple of thousand miles on for £45k at the moment.

If you insist on buying new, you should get a hugh discount. Like OP's have said, you need to catch them at the end of their quarter and need the extra numbers. Be prepared to shop round a few stealers as some will play and others will not. For reference - I was offered 15% discount plus a further 1k off a new C class estate at the end of Sept. I brought a new RS4 Avant in Sept 07 and managed to secure a 10% discount.

In the current Financial situation I would say 7-8% discount isnt enough! Thats what you can expect in any other times but right now id say you can probably knock off 10-15% without too much hassle.

GREAT car that! One of my current favs.

Just been offered a 17% discount off new (fully loaded)- I kid you not - If the situation keeps going down as this rate 50% could well be achievable given time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, I cant say which dealer was offering the discount, dealer confidentiality is part of the deal. I think MB would come down hard on them if they found out about the discount they were offering me.

what do you make of that matc 17% off a new c63 amg. would mercedes take the amg franchise from the dealer if they found out? thats amazing discount on 1 of those cars.

would that not be called price fixing if the dealer isnt able to sell at whatever price he likes for fear of losing a franchise?

I didnt think that the dealers were given that much discount themselves?

I think the dealers in question are probably giving the extra discount in another way i.e they have an end of year or quarter target to reach and maybe this makes the difference between making it and not making it.

Another possibility is that the car is a cancelled order and they have therefore kept the original purchasers deposit and therefore appear to be making a bigger discount then they really are.
Not uncommon in this current market, a lot of people ordered cars including the C63 thinking they would make money by selling on at a profit????

Either way are you going to buy it then???

None of the dealers have been given a new car volume target for Q4, so I can't see why they would be giving almost 10% over their actual margin. The only thing that might be swaying it slightly is that the car will be fully paid at the dealer; and they want to sell the car to get some money in; which would lead me to believe the dealer in question is in financial difficulties.

It is a rediculous deal, and IMO you would be mad not to take it. Let us know if it is all as seems, and you go ahead with it.

Shan; how you getting on with your car? I saw it in Penn Hill last night looking very clean!!

I now have more info on how they intend to invoice on the deal. I think there is an element of creative accounting here They are accumulating an element of discounts not fully used on other deals and transferring them onto mine, strange? However, they are adamant that it is all normal practice. I'm going in on Saturday to discuss further. Will let you know the outcome.
