Hi all

I just checked C43's from a 2018 to a 2020 and it now comes with CarPlay - my first C43 had it after I installed an after market plug in box and it ran perfectly.

new car has the wired option which works great but i want the wireless option but have tried 3 different adapters and they all seem to do the same thing - glitch the music every song or every other song for a few seconds to 20 seconds

anybody else seen this and know of a fix

have tried the Carlinkit 5.0 and even with help from their support got nowhere so have returned that and now back on wired

Anybody got one working without issues ?

Had some success in my 2020 GLC with one of the cheap car play dongle's on Amazon (£40 ish?), but the car's wireless charging has never worked reliably since I've owned it. Just went back to plugging it.

I bought one of these (below) and use it in a 2022 E Class.
After getting into the car with an Android smartphone in pocket, turn on ignition and then immediately Android Auto is displayed on the car screen.

You mention a glitch with music. I cannot comment on that aspect, because I play music FLAC files from a USB stick, therefore not involving Android Auto. You are presumably playing music fies which are on your phone, or perhaps streaming music through your phone.

I'm wanting to put an apple carplay screen into my 2009 W204 C-Class merc. The stock headunit has regular radio and a CD player, no Nav and the only connection in the car for piping in audio is a 3.5mm jack in the glove box... I guess back in 2009 there wasn't the need for additional connectivity :-)

Anyway I have found a handful of different options for Carplay / Android screens online... Most of them Chinese. I don't want a laggy really cheap bit of kit but at the same time don't want to be shelving out lots of money either.

I'm drawn to the 10 x 2.5" screens that can be found on eBay and many other online sellers, these actually look similar to what is fitted on newer Mercs....

Does anyone here have any experience with them, or any recommendations on what to or what not to get? Happy to install myself.... I have looked at the link earlier in this post but that company has nothing like this available.

Cheers

I used these guys

https://www.makcoding.co.uk/

to put a 3rd party adapter in to my older C43 and it worked brilliantly

you hold down the "star" button and it flips between the mercedes system or the adapter

Something different to consider - Thanks... I'm presuming it just uses the OEM infotainment screen? Trouble with the early W204 that I have without satnav. (the type where there is hood that you open to reveal the screen) is that the screen is like a game boy lol

I think an add-on car play screen would be a worthy addition, it's just finding one that has enough RAM and actually works properly and without awful audio quaility.

Looking at the link it seems the module they offer are for the NTG 4.5 onwards.... I belive mine is the NTG 4.0
