Mercedes SLK heater problem.

I’ve got a 2012 SLK and the heater has stopped working. Garage thinks the that allows warm air off the engine to be circulated into the interior is stuck closed.
Is this a big job to fix and if so how much or is quite a simple fix and if so how do I do it ??
Any advice gratefully received.
