Solex 4A1 Pressure clarification.

I'm struggling to get an answer, I have anything from 1.5psi up to 5 psi with various values in between eg 2.86psi 3.43psi

Any help much appreciated.

That 4A1's a fussy old beast. Rule of thumb from the guys still running them is set it to 3.5 psi as a safe baseline. The higher numbers like 5 psi are usually for the later carbs or full throttle racing setups, you'll just flood it. If it's bogging down or spitting back, tweak between 3 and 3.5 psi max. Start low and work up.
