Our roof on UK passenger side has a bit of corrosion.

See the attached photos.

I have tried contacting Alfa today for warranty repair, I think this should be done on the 8 year corrosion warranty.

Seems this is a common problem on these cars, in this specific area.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Very common.

I had one corner done under warranty when the car was 2 years old. It was serviced by the main dealer then and was a painless warranty claim. Mine is also a 2021 car and the other corner is now showing signs of rust. I'll be interested to hear how you get on!

I was only chatting with someone last week at our local Italian car meet and he mentioned he had his Giulia bought back by the supplying dealer for exactly this problem but on both doors, same year as yours too.

Apparently this isn't an unheard of issue.

It's where Alfa dealers let themselves down.

I spotted the second rust spot the day after the dealer serviced it. I called them up a) moan but b) book it into their body shop for repair. I was informed they had to see the car first and would then book it in for a later date after Alfa had agreed the warranty claim.

They couldn't understand my frustration at not wanting to drive the car 50 miles to them and then 50 miles home, to then repeat the same journey a week later having only just done it!

Like many dealers, they're no longer selling Alfa Romeo but do still service them.

Hi

contacted Alfa, they replied wanting pics/VIN/Number plate etc so hopefully a satisfactory outcome incoming!

I will inform the forum how I get on.

Doors are aluminium tho... If so this would be the 1st time I've read about any corrosion there? Guess we would need this confirmed by someone 1st hand!

Yes 100% confirmed and I didn't get it wrong, sounded exactly the same problem they have with the Alpine A110. The owner was a serial buyer of new Alfa and the run around he was getting sounded pretty horrendous. In the end the supplying dealer said we'll buy it back...here's an offer and you have 24 hours to take it or leave it.

I'm not an Alfa or Italian marque basher btw as own a couple, was as surprised as you clearly are.
